What is Open Water Diver ? 

You want to discover the underwater world and learn the basics of scuba diving? This is where it all begins... The Open Water Diver is the world's most popular diving course. Get your PADI here !

This course is accessible from 10 years and no previous experience in diving is necessary. You must be in good physical health and know how to swim.

The Open Water diver is divided into three parts:

  • Knowledge development with a theoretical part (5 sections), with Manual On Line;

  • Learning basic diving techniques in a confined water (swimming pool);

  • Exploration and discovery of the seabed with 4 dives in open water (sea).


With your Open Water diver certification, you are self-sufficient up to 18 meters and you have the freedom to dive independently with a buddy anywhere in the world or at all PADI dive centers around the world.

For your Open Water diver course, we ask you for a 3 days availability.  We ask you to read the manual (sent online) before starting the practical part.

If you wish, from the 4th dive, you can start your Nitrox Course (Enriched Air Diver Course) or continue your diving education with the Advanced Open water diver course.

a 3 day diving course

Day 1: Theory at the dive center and swimming pool

We will pick you up at your hotel between 7 am and 7:45 am depending on your accommodation to come to the dive center. After doing the registration papers, you will do confined water  exercises with the diving equipment. After lunch, you will finish the rest of confined water exercises if not yet done on the morning

 

Day 2: Two dives in ocean (Padang Bai or Sanur) + Theoretical exam
Wewill pick you up at  your hotel between 7 am and 7:45 am depending on your accommodation to gather the scuba divers of the day in the dive center. We use car /bus and diving boat to the dive sites (Padang Bai or Sanur depending on the bookings). After a briefing, enjoy your first open water dive of the day! Going back to the surface, take a tea and coffee break before leaving for the second dive. You will be limited to 12 meters deep. Lunch at the restaurant around 12:30 and return to the dive center at the beginning of the afternoon for the theoretical diving exam before your return to the hotel.

 
 

Day 3: Two dives in ocean (Amed or Tulamben) + End of training
We organize the transfer of your hotel to the dive center between 7:00 and 7:45. Then we go to the dive sites by air-conditioned minibus (Amed or Tulamben depending on the bookings). After a briefing on the beach, you go diving and explore the seabed. We have lunch together at the restaurant before making the second dive, limited to 18 meters deep. In the afternoon, return to the dive center in Sanur. If you have passed all the tests, congratulations, you will receive your PADI Open Water diver certification!

 
 

Remarks:

  • You have little time available? Choose the PADI Scuba Diver course to validate the first three theoretical sessions, the first three Open Water confined water and the first two dives in open water.
    If you have not been able to complete the Open Water diver course for any reason (health, illness, exam or non validated exercises ...), you can be Scuba Diver certified and continue your Open Water  diver course afterwards.
    It is possible to do the theoretical part of the Open Water diver with online courses (E-learning) remotely. Thus, the on-site training will only last two and a half days to perform the exercises in confined and the four dives  in open water.
