Bali offers so many different dive sites and each one is unique. From the smaller creatures of the lovers paradise of Menjangan, to the waters around Nusa Penida where you can find larger creatures such as Mola-Mola and Manta Rays. While each type of dive has its own charm, there's something about having fish swimming next to you that are twice your size.
The manta ray is an animal as impressive as it is harmless which allows you to swim very close to them. Some Manta Rays have a wingspan of over 4 metres and can weigh almost 1.5 tonnes! Their gentle, slow movements give them the impression of flying through the ocean, something truly incredible to see.
Where can you see Manta Rays in Bali ?
There's a very good chance you'll see them around the islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. There's even a dive site to the south-west of Nusa Penida called Manta Point. This is where you're most likely to see a manta ray. This spot is located near a cleaning station where these underwater giants come to be given a makeover by small fish that remove the parasites they have on their bodies.
